Welcome to the Pass Functional Skills’ Online Exams page; we are here to help support learners of all ages gain their Functional Skills English Level 2 qualifications! We can help you prepare for your exams as well as help you book the exam. The Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification is equivalent to a GCSE Grade C/Level 4. This means that many employers and universities recognise this as a qualification. Additionally, if you did not pass English at GCSE, you may be required to have a Functional Skills Qualification. There are several reasons people may want to take the Functional Skills English Level 2 Exam. As many students have not studied English academically for a long time, expanding their understanding of spelling, punctuation, and grammar is vital.

There are three components to the Functional Skills English Level 2 Exam; the Reading exam, the Writing exam, and the Speaking Listening and Communicating (SLC) exam. You will be assessed on your ability to identify and understand the key purpose of texts in the Reading exam. The Writing exam will test your ability to use key language features and your skills in creative writing. The SLC requires you to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively and with others. You will need to create a short presentation, where you will need to clearly and concisely express your ideas. You will need to interact with other learners in the Q&A session following this and a discussion task, ensuring you demonstrate your speaking, listening and communicating skills sufficiently.
